The SDLM-038-070-01-01M, a new, compact Electric Cylinder or Linear Voice Coil Actuator has been released by Moticont. This actuator is 38.1mm (1.500") in diameter, with a 25.4mm (1.000") stroke, and a housing length of 95.3mm (3.750"). This new Linear DC Servo Actuator with an internal quadrature encoder for closed servo loop operation features 1.25 micron of resolution and high repeatability. This clean, quiet, fully enclosed linear actuator has a continuous force of 16.8N (3.8 lbs.), and a peak force of 52.9N (11.9 lbs.). A HOME sensor is included for initial positioning, and an integral temperature sensor provides data to achieve the highest possible throughput while avoiding overheating.
Each end of the housing features M4X0.7 threaded mounting holes on a 19.1mm (0.75") bolt circle for universal mounting. The 6.4mm (0.250") non-rotating shaft has internal threaded holes for direct, zero backlash connection to a load at each end. The shaft is supported at both ends by long life linear bearings and can tolerate side loads up to 24.0N (5.4 lbs.).
