Robin Radar set to double its sales of counter-UAS technology

This first year has also seen collaborations with Boeing, Dedrone by Axon, and Amentum as it continues to answer the call for world-leading CUAS technology in the US.

Robin Radar Systems, a global leader in 3D radar technology for drone and bird detection, marks the first anniversary of its U.S. office opening, following a year of rapid expansion, operational milestones, and strengthened partnerships across an evolving American defense and security landscape.

Since establishing its dedicated U.S. entity in Ashburn, Virginia, in August 2024, Robin Radar has doubled its U.S. headcount propped up its sales pipeline, significantly accelerated user tests and live demonstrations, and secured high-profile deployments protecting critical infrastructure from the growing threat of uncrewed aerial systems (UAS).

The past twelve months have seen Robin Radar’s flagship IRIS counter-UAS radar system support research and development (R&D) for the U.S. Department of Homeland Security Science and Technology Directorate (DHS-S&T), which included a myriad of operational tests and demonstrations, including border protection, upholding ‘no-drone zones’ at large public events, disaster relief, and even mysterious drone sightings on the East Coast, cooperating with the National Urban Security Technology Laboratory.

Additionally, Robin Radar is supporting another DHS customer with an integrated solution that includes multi-sensor systems to safeguard some of the U.S.'s most critical infrastructure. These efforts build on long-standing transatlantic relationships with aerospace and defense partners, including Boeing, Dedrone by Axon, and Amentum.

The company’s U.S. expansion comes amid heightened concern over drone threats. In 2024 alone, 350 drone incursions were reported across 100 U.S. military bases, while global conflicts have highlighted how low-cost drones can destroy high-value assets. Against this backdrop, Robin Radar has positioned IRIS as a first line of defense—a mobile, lightweight, and AI-enhanced radar system delivering 360° situational awareness and unrivalled classification accuracy.

Looking ahead, Robin Radar will continue expanding its U.S. footprint, deepening integration with domestic defense innovators, and unveiling significant IRIS capability upgrades—including a Long-Range Mode designed to detect larger targets.

“Year one in the U.S. proved the demand for reliable and easy-to-use drone detection radars,” says Kristian Brost, Robin Radar’s U.S. General Manager. “We’ve scaled to a capable, integrated operation, working with U.S. partners to help secure high-consequence sites, from disaster recovery to major public events. As drones move from fringe risk to frontline threat, our focus is simple: keep U.S. skies safe with proven technology that plugs into existing command and control ecosystems and sensors.”
