BLM Group
Pratt Miller and BLM GROUP announced a new technical partnership strengthening Pratt Miller’s in-house sheet-metal processing capabilities in support of its Motorsports programs and Defense and Mobility business units. Under the agreement, Pratt Miller will integrate advanced BLM GROUP equipment including a LS7 4020 sheet laser and two all-electric ProBend press brakes (205-60 and 420-280, direct drive) into its manufacturing operations.
This collaboration is structured to deliver higher precision, throughput, efficiency, and flexibility in fabricating complex sheet-metal parts for high-performance and mission-critical applications. By leveraging BLM GROUP’s state-of-the-art laser and bending technologies, Pratt Miller aims to shorten lead times, reduce material waste, and enhance part quality, ultimately supporting more aggressive development cycles in motorsports and across its broader product engineering efforts.
Key elements of the partnership:
- LS7 4020 sheet laser: The LS7 platform from BLM GROUP offers high-speed, high-precision cutting on large-format sheet stock.
- 205-60 all-electric ProBend press brake (direct-drive): A highly efficient, compact press brake capable of tight tolerances and dynamic bending operations.
- 420-280 all-electric ProBend press brake (direct-drive): A larger-capacity model, suitable for heavier gauge bending or larger parts.
Together, these machines expand Pratt Miller’s in-house sheet metal fabrication capabilities, allowing faster response to design iterations, supply-chain disruptions, and racing-specific material challenges.
“Precision, speed, and adaptability are critical in motorsports, and equally so in advanced engineering programs beyond racing,” says Brandon Widmer, Vice President of Pratt Miller Motorsports. “By partnering with BLM GROUP, we are equipping ourselves with world-class machinery that enhances our ability to prototype, iterate, and deliver high-quality components faster than ever.”
“BLM GROUP is proud to support Pratt Miller’s ambitious growth in motorsports and high-performance engineering,” says Gunar Gossard, Vice President of Sales, BLM GROUP USA. “Our LS7 laser and ProBend press brake solutions bring the combination of automation, accuracy, and throughput that modern fabricators require. We look forward to seeing how Pratt Miller applies this capability in their demanding environment.”
Pratt Miller plans to commission the LS7 laser and both ProBend press brakes during [Q4 2025 / early 2026]. During the initial phase, the equipment will be deployed primarily to serve the motorsports programs. Over time, the processing cell will support a broader set of projects across Pratt Miller’s engineering and manufacturing divisions.
BLM GROUP will provide on-site commissioning, training, maintenance support, and integration assistance to ensure a smooth ramp-up and optimized performance.
