GITAI USA Inc.
GITAI USA Inc., a U.S.-headquartered space robotics company, announced the establishment of its new subsidiary, GITAI Defense & Space LLC, incorporated in Delaware and operating from the company's headquarters in Torrance, California. This strategic move positions GITAI to serve as a prime contractor for U.S. Department of Defense (DOD) and NASA programs.
Addressing U.S. government contracting requirements
GITAI USA, based in Torrance, California, already designs and manufactures all its space robotics systems—including advanced robotic arms, satellites, and robotic rovers—entirely within the United States. The company has a proven track record of securing contracts from U.S. government agencies such as DARPA, as well as from leading U.S. commercial space companies.
However, certain DOD and NASA solicitations require that prime contractors be majority-owned or controlled by U.S. citizens or permanent residents. To meet these criteria, GITAI Defense & Space LLC has been structured under a voting trust:
- 51% ownership by a U.S. trust company
- 49% ownership by GITAI USA Inc.
This ownership structure enables GITAI Defense & Space LLC to qualify for prime contractor roles in U.S. government contracts. The new subsidiary will focus on supporting national security missions—particularly by providing satellite buses for defense-oriented constellations and on-orbit servicing solutions powered by GITAI's proprietary robotics technologies.
