Curtiss-Wright’s Defense Solutions division a leading supplier of Modular Open Systems Approach (MOSA) solutions engineered for success, today announced that was selected by General Dynamics European Land Systems-Steyr to provide maintenance, repair and overhaul (MRO) services to help extend the operational life of the Austrian Army’s fleet of Ulan Infantry Fighting Vehicles (IFV). Under the contract, valued in excess of $10 million, Curtiss-Wright will replace the original electronic components used in the ground vehicle’s turret drive stabilization system and overhaul the vehicle’s mechanical components. The contract, which began in February 2023, is scheduled to run through the end of 2028.
Curtiss-Wright’s MRO services will help keep Austria’s Ulan Infantry Fighting Vehicle fleet at the optimal operational state for decades to come. As the original supplier, almost twenty-five years ago, of the Ulan IFV’s turret stabilization technology, Curtiss-Wright is able to cost-effectively update the electronic components on the vehicle using one-to-one fit, form, and function replacements. Even better, as the original OEM, Curtiss-Wright is able to overhaul the system’s mechanical components at far greater cost savings compared to having an alternative supplier replace the vehicle’s turret drive hardware.
