The U.S. Army successfully completed its first Soldier-led Limited User Test (LUT) of Lockheed Martin’s Precision Strike Missile (PrSM) in a milestone flight test at White Sands Missile Range, New Mexico.
During the demonstration, soldiers launched two PrSM missiles from a HIMARS in a long-range test against a target set, proving the system’s readiness. The test was conducted entirely by Army personnel.
"The PrSM program has consistently demonstrated the ability to deliver accurate and reliable performance,” says Carolyn Orzechowski, vice president of Precision Fires Launchers and Missiles at Lockheed Martin. “This achievement underscores the program’s maturity and reinforces the system’s reliability for our Army partner.”
The test marks a significant milestone for the PrSM program, a key Army modernization priority.
As the PrSM program advances, Lockheed Martin continues integrating 21st Century Security technologies into baseline and future variants to support interoperability and maritime operations.
PrSM is the U.S. Army’s next generation long-range precision strike missile capable of neutralizing targets out to more than 400km. The new surface-to-surface weapon features an open systems architecture design for maximum affordability and flexibility, is modular for future growth and is M142 HIMARS and M270A2 MLRS compatible.
