Full grip brass pie jaws

Full grip brass pie jaws firmly grip delicate workpieces without marring or distortion. Full grip jaws have maximum contact area to provide a solid gripping surface yielding more friction for drive with reduced part distortion, while the brass provides a softer surface without marring or marking of the workpiece surface. Standard parts are available to 32" in diameter with custom designs available with special heights, diameters, and configurations, including a matching serration location exactly perpendicular to the slots. The full grip jaws are well-suited for components fabricated from brass, aluminum, bronze, and other softer, malleable alloys.

Full grip chuck jaws are suitable for high-speed machining, as well as precision boring, tapping, drilling, and finishing across virtually all industrial markets. In addition to brass, full grip pie jaws are available in 6061 aluminum, 1018 steel, and cast iron. These wrap-around type top jaws distribute more of the gripping pressure across the workpiece, reducing part distortion. Standard and custom full grip jaws are available in serrated, tongue & groove serrated, Acme serrated, and square serrated designs.

Rough boring head

The SWS Rough Boring Head’s twin-cutter allows for diameter adjustments without a tool measurement unit, making setups faster and easier while maintaining a high level of precision.

The Synchro Setter connects two cartridges to provide simultaneous diameter adjustment to both cartridges. Operators can make final diameter setting adjustments using a simple measuring device, such as a micrometer or dial caliper.

The SWS range spans 41mm to 110mm (1.61" to 4.33") diameters, and all SWS heads have coolant holes as standard.

CNC simulation software update

The Vericut 9.6 software update introduces advanced artificial intelligence (AI) capabilities and a range of productivity-focused enhancements simplifying machining workflows, improving collaboration, and delivering real-world usability across the shop floor.

Vericut 9.6 introduces two transformative AI-driven tools redefining how users interact with the software:

Vericut Assistant (VA) – An integrated in-software guide delivering instant, context-aware support. Whether users are looking for help with settings, simulation steps, or tool configurations, VA answers “How do I...” questions right within the interface, reducing training time and unlocking more value from Vericut’s features.

Vericut Intelligence (VI) – A web-based knowledge hub providing 24/7 access to AI-powered insights across Vericut’s full suite including Force, Composites, Optimizer, and more. From broad concepts like “What is Force?” to specific features like “X-Caliper,” VI offers a smart, searchable companion for all things Vericut.

Better communication & control

Vericut Reviewer, the tool for reviewing NC programs, has been upgraded to support AUTO-DIFF results, while improvements to the user interface (UI) add Head Up Display (HUD) status and custom hot keys, making it easier to review, share, and analyze simulations across teams.

Induction heat treating scanner

The SmartScan Mini is a flexible, versatile induction heat treating scanner that can be configured to perform various heat-treating processes such as hardening, quenching, tempering, and normalizing. It can be configured to operate as a single spindle unit and accommodate up to 10" (25cm) part sizes and 66 lb (30kg) weights. Paired with the SmartPower Induction heating power supply, the SmartScan Mini can be configured to deliver from 50kW to 200kW and from 40kHz to 250kHz into the heat-treated part, ensuring any hardening depth and speed can be achieved for a small range of part sizes.

Solid carbide drill

The Drivox·tec Solid carbide drill DD170 Supreme is designed as a premium problem solver in steel and cast iron, but with some technical improvements including the Krato·tec multi-layer coating. The revised point geometry of the solid carbide holemaking bit has an equally positive effect: a larger clearance angle on the internal side than on the external side, and the raised drill point improves positioning accuracy, reduces axial forces, and increases drilling quality.

A flatter entry toward the drill insert improves process stability, especially with soft materials, because it minimizes material sticking. In addition to optimizing the cutting profile, the number of flutes has been increased. With 12 grooves instead of 8, the DD170 Supreme can now be reground more frequently, significantly increasing the service life and sustainability of the solid carbide drill bit.
