The Wohlhaupter balance 465 (464) boring head offers precision boring with automatic balancing. It’s available in an analog version or equipped with a 3ETECH digital readout module docking port for easy digital adjustments. The fine boring head now features an enhanced clamping mechanism from the 565 (564) digital fine boring heads, and is engineered to minimize the residual imbalance produced by insert holder displacement. The Alu-Line boring heads, ranging from 2.559" to 8.070" (65mm to 205mm), offer a lightweight aluminum design with a wear-resistant coating reducing weight on the spindle up to 50% while remaining durable in challenging boring applications. For diameters more than 1.496" (38mm), the insert holder can be rotated for reverse machining jobs.

Wohlhaupter 420 (410) digital boring heads are also equipped with a 3ETECH+ docking port. Boring heads from 1.142" (29mm) and up offer precision boring with automatic balancing.

Wohlhaupter 3ETECH+ external digital readout module docks onto all existing boring heads and cassettes offering the 3ETECH port for easy diameter adjustments at the machine.

Machine performance check mobile app

The CARTO Ballbar Connect app for the QC20 ballbar will provide a simplified user experience for machine operators to complete a valuable machine performance check with minimal training.

The CARTO Ballbar Connect app uses a macro-based program, offering maximum simplicity to customize a setting code to configure and run a ballbar test, while removing the requirement to edit and transfer machine part programs. The CARTO Ballbar Connect app allows a user to easily set up and capture data from the QC20 ballbar in one test sequence. Machine results are provided as a single quantitative, visual indication of the machine’s volumetric positioning performance using the app’s 3D Check test sequence.

Testing with the Renishaw QC20 ballbar system provides a simple, rapid check of a CNC machine tool’s positioning performance. The QC20 ballbar is widely recognized as a leading preventative maintenance tool for new and installed machines around the world.

CARTO Ballbar Connect is currently available for iOS and FANUC controls.

Semi-automated 3D metrology

ZEISS ScanPort optical 3D metrology solution combines accuracy, flexibility, and ease of use in a compact system. This semi-automated system is designed for users requiring reliable metrology results without needing extensive training or complex setups.

ZEISS ScanPort delivers fast, highly precise 3D data. Paired with the comprehensive ZEISS INSPECT software, complex inspection processes can be performed with just a few clicks: from CAD comparison and mesh editing to trend analysis, ScanPort delivers reproducible results at the highest level.

The system combines a vertically movable axis, a tiltable mechanism, and a rotation table, enabling true 3-axis automation. This allows for optimal illumination and capturing of parts from different angles. The modular, mobile design makes it suitable for use directly on the shop floor or at various locations. The integrated scanner can be detached if required and used separately to measure larger parts.

ZEISS ScanPort allows easy operation with ZEISS INSPECT. Features such as kiosk mode, workflow assistants, and preconfigured scanning templates guide even inexperienced users smoothly through the measurement process. Operation is standardized; an accurate measurement can be started with just one click, reducing training time and minimizing potential errors.

The integrated motion replay function ensures previously performed scans can be precisely repeated. For recurring parts, this enables a series-ready inspection strategy with consistent evaluation. Deviations between individual parts are automatically detected and visualized, allowing trends in production to be identified and corrected at an early stage.

ZEISS ScanPort is suitable for a range of industrial applications, such as 3D printing, reverse engineering, casting and plastics, and toolmaking, as well as the creation of virtual models and digital twins. The simple one-shot calibration with a DAkkS/ILAC-calibrated length standard guarantees continued measurement accuracy.
