
KYOCERA SGS Precision Tools (KSPT) president Tom Haag announced his retirement; Tomoaki Hirano, previously serving as executive vice president and chief strategy officer, succeeded Haag as president. Haag had been an integral part of SGS Tool Co. since 1984, when his father, Jack Haag, acquired full ownership of the business. He was appointed president in 2000 and guided the company through substantial growth, technical innovation, and improved operational performance. Hirano brings more than 25 years of experience within the KYOCERA Group, including the last three as executive vice president.

Boeing announced Stephen (Steve) Parker as president and chief executive officer of its Defense, Space & Security (BDS) business. He’ll report to Boeing President and CEO Kelly Ortberg and serve on the company’s executive council. Parker will oversee the company’s business unit providing technology, products, and solutions for defense, government, space, and intelligence customers worldwide. Parker was previously BDS chief operating officer. Before that, he led BDS divisions including Bombers & Fighters and Vertical Lift, and oversaw teams developing many of the most innovative products and solutions across Boeing’s defense portfolio.

Oshkosh Corp. announced the renaming of its Defense segment to the Transport segment. The Transport segment will continue to deliver tactical wheeled vehicles and mobility solutions to defense customers. Additionally, it’ll focus on expanding into commercial markets. In conjunction with this transition, Oshkosh Corp. appointed Steve Nordlund as executive vice president and president of its Transport segment.

IFS, provider of enterprise cloud and Industrial AI software, appointed Mark Buongiorno president, Aerospace & Defense. Based in North America, Buongiorno joins the IFS executive leadership team, bringing more than three decades of aerospace & defense leadership, operations, and engineering experience. Buongiorno was most recently CEO of Tsunami Tsolutions, a privately held engineering and IT services company focused on aerospace & defense. He succeeds current president Scott Helmer, who transitions into the role of chairman of IFS Aerospace & Defense.

NKK Switches, a global designer, manufacturer, and switch solution provider of innovative electromechanical switches, announced the appointment of Vincent Matsushita as president of its North American operations in Scottsdale, Arizona. Raised and educated in Japan, Matsushita moved to southern California and worked as a chemical engineer and a marketing specialist with ITT Industries in the military/aerospace division. He was deeply involved with NASA’s international space station JEM project.

Pogue will bring together Calian’s Advanced Technologies and Learning business units, leveraging the synergies of its communications and manufacturing solutions alongside its immersive training and simulation expertise. Pogue brings more than 20 years of senior executive experience. He most recently served as president and CEO of Thales Canada, where he expanded naval support services, re-established land-forces capabilities, and guided key AI and digital transformation initiatives. Prior to Thales, he led MDA Government’s Defence Space portfolio and held leadership roles at General Dynamics Mission Systems Canada and CAE Professional Services.
